Centre for Asian Studies

The Centre for Asian Studies (CAS) is dedicated to the study of contemporary Asia in a time of globalisation. Its activities are organised around a general theme: “Global Re-ORIENT-ation: the Renewing of Asia and the Reorganisation of the World”. Drawing from a multidisciplinary approach in social sciences and humanities, its academic approach aims toward better understanding of the economic, social and political development of all Asian countries, as well as their increasing role in international relations, with a focus on the four largest: China, India, Indonesia and Vietnam.
